Inspiring our Communities to be Stronger and more Resilient

Welcome to the DaCCWA website where you should be able to find everything you need to run a successful and active Watch Scheme for your community.

DaCCWA represents all of the Community Watch schemes across Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Through our growing team of passionate volunteers, alongside the valuable support from our local neighbourhood policing teams led by Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer and our Police and Crime Commissioner Alison Hernandez, we’re focused on bringing people together to create strong, friendly, active and resilient communities where crime and anti-social behaviour are less likely to happen.

"DaCCWA is as relevant in the 21st Century as it has ever been. It stands on the foundations of all that is good in our society and its values are true." Shawn Sawyer, Chief Constable

"I am proud to support community watch, would urge others to get involved and look forward to seeing it continue to flourish so our wonderful part of the world becomes even safer." Alison Hernandez, Police and Crime Commissioner

Watch communities are defined by their actions. Making their communities safer, limiting opportunities for crime, preventing loneliness and isolation, collectively supporting one another and making a difference. We encourage communities to have a sense of collective responsibility through increased awareness and adoption of effective crime prevention measures.

Julie Dowton, Chair of DaCCWA
